Pumpkin Better Than Sex Cake

Spice cake with caramel, cool whip & Heath bits…what more could you want!? This Pumpkin Better than Sex Cake is delicious and full of Pumpkin flavor just in time for the Holidays! The best part? It is quick, easy and everyone will be asking for more. This cake is so delicious, I could pick at it all day long. I am a sucker for anything pumpkin spice and nowadays you can find it just about in anything. What’s not to love about pumpkin spice? So, what makes this cake so moist? By poking holes in to the cake after it has cooled and pouring sweetened condensed milk over and letting it soak in. Alright, now that you are drooling, let’s get to baking!

INGREDIENTS

  • box spiced cake

  • pumpkin puree

  • sweetened condensed milk

  • cool whip, unthawed

  • cream cheese, softened

  • powdered sugar

  • 3 Heath bars

  • caramel sundae topping

LET’S MAKE THE PUMPKIN BETTER THAN SEX CAKE

First off, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a medium sized bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree with the dry cake mix. Do not add any of the ingredients that are on the back of the cake box. Just the pumpkin puree and the cake mix is all we need! Once that is all combined. Spread the mixture into the bottom of your 9 x 13 greased cake pan. Pop it in the oven and bake for 25-25 minutes. Mine took exactly 33 minutes to perfection. Place a toothpick in to check if it is done, if it comes out clean; you are good to go. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes or so. This is where the cake will settle and pull away from the edge of the pan. After that, you are going to poke holes with the end of a wooden spoon all over the top of the cake. Once that is done, pour your sweetened condensed milk over the whole cake. Now, cover the cake up and place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or longer. 

While our cake is chillin, literally Let’s whip up our cool whip mixture. Grab another bowl and your hand mixer. Place the cool whip, cream cheese and powdered sugar in the bowl and mix it all together until it is smooth. Feel free to take a few licks, just to make sure it tastes good. A baker always has to sample some part of the recipe. Don’t tell anyone that! Now, prior to serving, remove your cake from the fridge and start spreading the cool whip mixture over top. Once that is all set, sprinkle the Heath bits over top and drizzle caramel sauce over the whole cake. Slice into pieces, serve and enjoy!

GRAB A SLICE AND EAT UP!

This cake is best to eat up right away. The longer and more days it sits in the fridge, the soggier it will get.  This pumpkin better than sex cake will be soft and tender. Make sure to use pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie mix. You could also add some crushed nuts to the top with the Heath bits. 

Every once in a while dessert should be eaten first! Enjoy
