Pizza Hotdish
A new way to make your favorite delivery at home! We are big pizza lovers and this pizza hotdish is so simple to make and something the whole family is sure to enjoy. It has big pizza flavor and the best part? It’s made right at home! Just like with any other pizza, you can add whatever topping you want, olives, peppers, etc. I am going to stick to the basics because that is what my 2hungrydaughters love.
HOW TO MAKE IT
First, preheat your oven to 350/375, depending on your oven. Start boiling some water and cook your pasta noodles according to the package instructions, drain and set aside. You can use egg noodles or rotini noodles for this. After that, start browning your meat in a large skillet or in a large Dutch oven. For this recipe, I used half a pound of pork sausage and half a pound of ground beef with a pinch of the Killer Hogs AP seasoning blend, which is just salt, pepper and garlic. I like to use a Dutch oven because I can brown the hamburger and then add everything else to it and place it in the oven.
Alright back to the recipe. Once your noodles and meat are all cooked and ready to go, place them in a large bowl or combine them in a Dutch oven. Add in pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 can milk and pepperonis. I love to use the mini pepperoni if I can find them but if not I cut big pepperonis in half. My mom likes to throw in a jar of black olives but those do not make it in this house. Sprinkle in about a tsp of Pizza & Pasta Magic Seasoning Blend, you can substitute Italian seasoning or nothing at all. Mix everything together well so it is all covered and saturated. Place it in the oven for 1 hour.
THE PIZZA HOTDISH IS ALMOST DONE…
When the pizza hotdish is done, take it out and sprinkle some more mozzarella cheese on and bake for 10 more minutes. You can pair this with a side salad and garlic bread. Yum!
This recipe is so easy to make ahead of time, on busy school nights or for a friend who just had a baby! It is a top 5 in our house and will be in yours soon too. Enjoy!
