PB&J Tacos

Name a duo kids love more than PB&J, I’ll wait……..

If my kids had it their way they would eat pb&j for breakfast, lunch and supper. Sometimes V only likes the pb part but that’s okay, it’s protein! With school just around the corner, mornings can be hectic and making lunches for kiddos needs to be easy. The best part about this lunch? You can make it so many ways with different spreads. I give you pb&j tacos. There are 3 key ingredients: peanut butter, jelly & bread. Pretty Simple.

The tacos are so easy to make, you can use a cookie cutter if you have one large enough or a ramekin, like I used. Place it on the bread and cut it out. Make sure you do not smash the bread down too much though, you do not want these tacos to be flat.

Next up, grab your peanut butter. We like to change it up between Skippy natural creamy peanut butter and Justin’s honey peanut butter. Both are creamy and delicious. Spread that on your bread.

Now it is time for the jelly, which can be a huge debate. So tell me are you a strawberry fan or grape? Our family loves strawberry, especially the Bonne Maman strawberry preserves from Target. There are so many other options for jelly; cherry, raspberry, blueberry, just to name a few.

THE BEST PART OF THE PB&J TACOS? FRESH FRUIT!

Fold the bread like a taco and top with fresh fruit. We chopped up strawberries and blueberries. After that, you could add on a chocolate drizzle, choc chips or even marshmallows. Just like with any other taco, the skies the limit when building them. Place them in a sandwich bag or bento box and put into their lunchbox. You can also serve them up for the kiddos to eat right away. I can guarantee moms will gobble these up as well, that fresh fruit crunch is the best.
