Jalapeño Poppers

These jalapeño poppers are stuffed with seasoned cream cheese, wrapped with bacon and baked until they are the right amount of crispy. I can’t get enough of these. These have been a hot commodity lately at every party and get together. They are the perfect level of spicy and crunchy. My mouth is watering at the thought of making them again. The best part? This recipe is SO easy. Follow along below to make the most flavor bursting jalapeño poppers.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound of bacon

  • 10oz bag of jalapeños (about 8-9 jalapeños)

  • 7.5oz garden vegetable cream cheese

  • about 1 tbsp of Killer hogs hot BBQ rub

  • about 1 tbsp of Killer hogs AP rub

  • toothpicks

  • baking sheet or tray

LET’S GET THINGS POPPIN

First thing you will want to do is unthaw your bacon if it is frozen. If your bacon is thick, you can cut it in half. You only need about 5-6 inches of bacon to wrap around the jalapeños. Now, it is time to core the jalapeños. Slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and scoop out the insides with a spoon or pairing knife. Next up, scoop some cream cheese into each jalapeño and set them on a baking sheet.

Once they are all done, it is time to wrap the bacon around them. This is where the tooth picks come in handy. It may get slimy but just know, the toothpicks will help keep the bacon wrapped around the popper; so poke them in wherever and however you choose. Lastly, when each jalapeño popper is wrapped, you are going to sprinkle on the Hot BBQ and AP Rub. I use these spices ALL the time. They will be linked below again. I feel like they have been linked in every post. I am telling you, they are my go-to’s for a lot of my recipes.

These jalapeño poppers can either be baked in the oven or grilled. If you are choosing the grilling route, you will want to grill them at 350 degrees for 30 minutes using indirect heat. They will be charred and crisp – YUM! If you want to bake them in the oven, preheat your oven to 400 degrees and bake for 25-30 minutes. The bacon will be perfectly crispy. Either way – they will be delicious. I promise

GRAB A PLATE AND SERVE UP THE JALAPENO POPPERS

The cheese is perfectly melted, the peppers tender and the bacon crisp and smoky for the most amazing bite. Make these for your next holiday party!
