INGREDIENTS
cheerios
Chex cereal
m&m’s
peanuts
pretzels
Crisco
almond bark
sprinkles – optional
IT’S SNACK TIME!
First, line your counter with parchment paper. We will come back to this. In a large mixing bowl, add in cheerios, Chex cereal, m&m’s, peanuts and pretzels. Mix it all together and set aside. In a medium sized, microwave safe bowl, add the shortening and almond bark.
Melt the shortening and almond bark in the microwave in 20sec increments. Stirring each time until smooth. The almond bark will continue cooking even outside of the microwave so keep an eye on it, you do not want it to burn!
Now it’s time to work fast! Pour the almond bark on top of the chex mix. Toss it all together until it is completely covered. Finally, pour the mixture onto the parchment paper, gently pat the clumps down and sprinkle remaining m&m’s on top. This is where you can add extra sprinkles here and let it cool for up to 30 minutes. Goodluck trying to keep your paws off this Valentine’s chex mix. It is delicious!
This Valentine’s chex mix is crave worthy. You truly could make this anytime of the year and just change out the color of the m&m’s. IT IS THAT GOOD! Grab a handful and enjoy.
