Valentine’s Rice Krispie Treats
This recipe for Valentine’s Rice Krispie treats makes a nice crunchy cereal treat with just the right amount of marshmallow gooey-ness and the most amazing, creamy, buttery, marshmallowy flavor. Not to mention they are dipped in white chocolate for an extra sweet kick.
INGREDIENTS
butter
mini marshmallows
rice krispie cereal
melting chocolate/almond bark
sprinkles
heart shaped cookie cutters
parchment paper
Sweets are the way to our heart.
First, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. I used a large rectangular shaped baking sheet. In a large pot over medium heat, melt your butter. Add in the marshmallows and stir until they melt. Remove that mixture from the heat and add in your cereal and coat. You can add an additional scoop of marshmallows now too if you want. Scoop your sticky cereal mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. If the mixture is sticking to your spatula as you are trying to pat it down, spray with cooking oil. Let the treats cool a bit before you start cutting in and making heart shaped rice krispie treats.
Now that they have cooled, lay out some extra parchment paper. Grab your cookie cutters and cut out some hearts. Melt the chocolate in a medium sized bowl in 20 second increments, so it doesn’t burn. Dip half of the heart into the chocolate, lay on parchment paper and top with sprinkles. Let cool and store in an airtight container or indulge. You may have some leftover rice krispies left, smash it all together and put into a lined, 9x9 square pan, pat down and enjoy later.
These Valentine’s Rice Krispie treats are great to make for friends or neighbors.
Enjoy!
