Air Fryer French Toast Sticks
Say HELLO to a new recipe your kids will be requesting for breakfast. How many of you have an air fryer? We have had ours forever and use it all the time. I love finding new recipes to make in it. It makes me appreciate the extra piece of counter space that it takes up. Alright here we have it, air fryer French Toast sticks that come out crispy on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside and covered in cinnamon and sugar. Drooling? Let’s get started!
INGREDIENTS
10 slices of thick white bread (Texas Toast)
egg yolks
butter
milk
brown sugar
ground cinnamon
vanilla extract
cinnamon & sugar seasoning
powdered sugar (optional)
maple syrup for topping
FRENCH TOAST STICKS COMING RIGHT UP!
Before we start, you can either use a thick, sliced white sandwich bread or Texas Toast. First, cut your bread into thirds and place them into the air fryer for a couple minutes to dry out the bread. That way your air fryer French toast sticks won’t be soggy. While the bread is cooking in the air fryer, you can make the French toast mixture. Place butter and milk into microwavable bowl and set in the microwave for 2 minutes. You want your butter to be soft and the milk to be warm. Mix it together.
Smell that? Delicious. Next, add in your egg yolks and mix that together with a fork or a whisk. Add in the vanilla extract, cinnamon and brown sugar. Mix everything together and place in a shallow bowl or use your mixing bowl. I used the same mixing bowl I started with to have less dishes Once the bread sticks are dried out and a little crisp. Place them into the mixture and flip. Covering the whole stick of bread.
Line all of your sticks on a baking sheet or place them directly into the air fryer in a single layer and sprinkle cinnamon & sugar over top. Cook for about 8-12 minutes at 350, flipping them over halfway through. Once they are done, take them out. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and serve with maple syrup.
These air fryer French Toast sticks are perfect for kids, portable, easy to make and ready to eat in 15 minutes. You can make these in advance for easy bites on busy mornings, just pop them in the toaster to warm them up. These can also be froze up to 4 weeks.
