This caramel puff corn is addicting and great for gift giving or game day snacking. You won't be able to resist these corn puffs that are smothered in brown sugar and butter. This caramel puff corn brings back so many memories from when I was little and a member of Junior Auxiliary. We would host bingo events for veterans and I would sit in the corner scarfing down puff corn.

Lets get started.

INGREDIENTS

  • puff corn

  • butter

  • corn syrup

  • brown sugar

  • vanilla

  • baking soda

The ultimate snack

Caramel puff corn is so easy to make and you only need a few ingredients. The best part? It bakes in the oven to give it the perfect crunch. Try to resist taking 1 bite before it’s done, I dare you.

First up, preheat your oven to 250 degrees and spray a large roasting pan with cooking spray. You can either dump your corn puffs into a large mixing bowl or into your roasting pan and set them aside. Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat and add in karo syrup and brown sugar. Stirring until it is all combined. Turn the heat up a little bit to bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously. Next, add in the vanilla and stir it all together. Remove from the heat, add in baking soda and mix until combined. It will sort of foam up at this point. Finally, pour the mixture over top of the corn puffs, mixing it around and making sure every piece is evenly covered.

Place in the oven for 45 minutes, giving it a quick stir every 15 minutes. Once it is done, take it out of the oven and dump onto parchment paper to cool. Try and separate the big clumps. This is where I like to sample a few or a handful……. :)

Once it is completely cooled place in an airtight storage container. This caramel puff corn is a tasty alternative to traditional caramel corn. This easy snack is baked for an awesome crunch and works great for everyday snacking, parties and even game day! The hardest part…. keeping your hands off it. Enjoy!
