WHAT DO YOU SAY WE MAKE THE CREAMY BAKED SPAGHETTI?

First, you will want to preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Now take out your large pot, fill it with water and bring to a roaring boil. Cook your spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions. Once they are done, drain them and place them back into your pot. Stir in 2 tablespoons of butter, as well as half of your spaghetti sauce, half of the tomato sauce and mix together. Then, set aside.

BRING ON THE BEEF!

Time to make the meat mixture! In a medium skillet, brown your hamburger. Add in 2 tsp garlic, 2 tsp minced onion and 1/2 tsp pasta seasoning. Sauté another 4-5 minutes. Drain any of the excess grease and add in the rest of your spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce.

Mix the meat mixture all together and set it aside. MMMM smell that? Italian food is seriously the BEST. Now, in a medium sized bowl, you are going to use a hand blender and mix together 4 oz of cream cheese, 1 cup cottage cheese, 2 tbsp sour cream and 3/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Once that is all incorporated you can go ahead and set it aside. We will be building the creamy baked spaghetti shortly. But first, in a deep 9×13 dish you are going to slice up the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and place them on the bottom of the baking dish.

LET’S GET THIS CREAMY BAKED SPAGHETTI ROLLING

Now let’s get this dish rolling. Place half of the spaghetti noodles in the bottom of the dish. Next, you are going to spread the cheese mixture over top of the spaghetti. Once that is all on there, you are going to add the remaining noodles on top of the cheese mixture. Finally, pour the meat mixture over top of the spaghetti noodles, covering it all. Sprinkle on remaining mozzarella cheese and pop it in the oven. This will bake for about 30-40 minutes. You can broil for an extra 3 minutes if you choose too. My husband loves to use the “broil” button on the oven, although 8 out of 10 times he burns things. HA! At least I am being honest.

You can also add some parmesan cheese on top(if you want) Let it sit for about 5 minutes before digging in. This dish will feed a lot! We usually half the recipe to feed our family of 4 with 2 servings left over.

creamy baked spaghetti

Did you know that you can make this creamy baked spaghetti ahead of time. Just make sure to cover it with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge up to 3 days before baking. You may need to add an extra 5-10 minutes to the baking time if you take it right out of the fridge and place it in the oven. This can also be made and froze for up to 3 months, just wrap it in tinfoil.

My kids love spaghetti, but I have to say… I hate how messy it is! This creamy baked spaghetti is a fan favorite in our home, how could you resist the layers of noodles, spaghetti sauce and melted cheese!? Give this one a try and let me know what you think!
