INGREDIENTS

  • Meatballs; homemade or store bought (not frozen)

  • Meatball recipe — egg, panko bread crumbs, pork, spicy sausage

  • Garlic

  • Italian seasoning

  • Butter

  • Kings Hawaiian rolls

  • Marinara sauce

  • Mozzarella cheese

  • Parmesan Cheese

  • Parsley for garnish

Sliding into the week.

These are simple and easy. Let’s go! First off, preheat the oven to 275 degrees. For the meatballs — mix together 1/2 pound spicy sausage, 1/2 pound pork, 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs and 1 egg. Make meatballs and place in the oven to cook for 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees. When the meatballs are done, crank that oven to 400 degrees and let’s build the sliders. Spray a 9x9 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and place your Kings Hawaiian Buns in the dish. Cut holes into the center of each bun. Make sure they are large enough to fit your meatballs. Melt butter and mix in garlic and Italian seasoning. Mix together and coat buns, making sure to coat the insides too. Place rolls in the oven and bake for about 5 minutes.

Take the rolls out and fill each hole with marinara sauce. Next, pop a piece of mozzarella cheese into the hole and add 1 meatball to each roll. Sprinkle on some parmesan cheese and top with another small piece of mozzarella cheese. Place back into the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes. Take out and drizzle on extra marinara sauce if you like it saucy :)

Side note — the meatballs can be made ahead of time to make for a speedy meal.

Whether you're feeding a hungry crowd or simply craving a cozy dinner at home, these meatball sliders are guaranteed to please palates of all ages. So why wait? Whip up a batch tonight and watch as your family clamors for more!

Serve and enjoy!
