Secrets to juicy, flavorful steak.
Feature Friday is BACK! Y’all know, Sunday night steak is a staple in our household. Today, Pat is sharing his tips to make delicious, juicy flavorful steak every single time.
There is nothing quite like the taste of a perfectly grilled steak. Whether you’re a seasoned grill master or a beginner looking to impress, we will walk you through the steps to achieve steak perfection. Let’s dive into the delicious world of steak grilling.
INGREDIENTS
steak — choose the best cut for you
avocado oil
steak seasoning
Sizzling success.
Different cuts offer unique flavors and textures, so choose based on what YOU like!
Ribeye — known for rich marbling and tenderness
Sirloin — leaner than a ribeye, offers a balance of flavor and tenderness
Filet Mignon — chef’s kiss! most tender cut, delivers a melt-in-your-mouth experience
New York Strip — wall marbled, flavorful and has a firmer texture compared to ribeye.
Now that I’ve shared the options, let’s get to prepping. Start by taking the steak out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before grilling. This ensures even cooking. Next coat the steak with avocado oil and season both sides generously. A good steak needs only a few ingredients.
Get your grill hot. Aim for a temperature of around 400°F. This high heat is crucial for searing the steak, locking in juices, and creating that delicious crust.
Prevent sticking by brushing the grill grates with a high smoke point oil. Place the steaks on the grill. Grill 4 minutes a side for about 12-16 minutes, keeping an eye out for flare ups. Once your steak reaches the desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and juicy steak. Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
We love serving our steak party style so everyone can grab some slices. Steak pairs with so many wonderful side dishes. Lat it atop a big Cesar salad or with potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I link our favorite side dishes below!
