oven ready lasagna noodles

It’s Pasta Night!
One tip before we begin, with this homemade lasagna, you can either use cottage chees or ricotta cheese; cottage cheese is less calories.
In a large pan on your stove, cook ground beef. Add in the onion and garlic. Once the onions are translucent you can add in tomato sauce, water, tomato paste, oregano, basil and a little salt and pepper. Stir together and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once it is boiling, reduce the heat and let it cook covered for 15-20 minutes. How great does it smell?
How to layer homemade lasagna
Once your sauce is ready to go we will build our lasagna in a large baking dish. Place a small amount of the meat mixture on the bottom and spread around. Add your lasagna noodles. Next, spoon half of your ricotta cheese and spread around, covering the noodles. Spoon more of the meat mixture on top of that. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Add 1/3 of your mozzarella cheese.
Repeat with another layer of noodles, ricotta cheese, meat mixture, parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese — in that order. The final layer should be noodles, topped with the remaining meat mixture and remaining mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle on some Italian seasoning and bake covered for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Serve with salad and breadsticks. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days. If you want to freeze it, freeze the recipe before baking it. These step by step instructions will give you a perfect lasagna every single time.
This homemade lasagna is loaded with comforting flavors. My final questions…. do you like an edge piece or a center piece?
