Elevate your lunch game with this delicious and indulgent Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich. This is for all of my up north friends. If you have ever been to Grand Junction, then you know what I am talking about. We decided to make a “copycat” Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich and it is LIGHTS OUT! Are you ready for it?

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 lb deli sliced ham, off the bone

  • 1/2 lb deli sliced chicken breast, off the bone

  • French bread

  • honey mustard

  • mayo

  • toppings: shredded lettuce, swiss cheese, tomatoes, onion

LETS GET TO CHICKEN CORDON BLEU SANDWICH MAKING!

First off, let’s talk about our meat choice. You can either use packaged lunch meat or you can go to the deli counter and have them slice you fresh meat off of the bone. This is how I prefer it, the meat is full of flavor. Next up, bread choice. You can get a fresh loaf of French bread or if you are feeling ambitious you can go to Jimmy John’s and ask for their day old bread; either works! Okay, enough waiting lets start cooking.

First, cube your meat. Pre heat a skillet over medium high heat and add in the chicken and ham. As your meat cooks through, add in your honey mustard and mayo. This is where you can adjust the sauce portions. Feel free to add more or less depending on how “saucy” you want the sandwich to be. I prefer mine to be extra saucy. Mix it all together until combined. Next, slice and toast your bread prior to assembling the sandwich. This can be done in the oven or on the stove with a cast iron skillet.

When ready, preheat oven to broil and place your sandwich on a baking sheet open faced and melt the cheese. (about 1 minute) Keep an eye on your cheese as it will melt fast. Take it out, add your toppings and serve it up with some French fries or potato chips and dive in.

This chicken cordon bleu sandwich is perfect for a Saturday lunch or you can level up your snack time with this gooey and delicious sandwich perfection.
