Steak Sandwiches

Leftover steak? No problem. Give these steak sandwiches a try this week. These are inspired by one of my good friends back in North Dakota. I love when someone introduces me to a new meal and I make my own twist on it.

We made these sandwiches twice in one week because the first time they were too good not to share. The juiciest steak perfectly wedged between ciabatta bread, the most delicious pesto aioli and melted, gooey cheese. Talk about a sandwich! This is one perfect quick dinner recipe.

INGREDIENTS

  • Ciabatta slider buns

  • pesto

  • mayo

  • leftover steak

  • white cheddar, swiss or pepperjack cheese slices

  • Worcestershire sauce

Put that Leftover Steak to good use!

First, take the leftover steak out of the fridge and cut it into strips. Heat it up on the stove and set aside. Cut ciabatta buns in half and lay them faced open on a baking sheet. Mix together your mayo and pesto to create the most delicious aioli. Spread on top of half of the buns and spread butter on top of the other buns. Place 3-4 strips of steak on top of the aioli and drizzle on a little Worcestershire sauce. Top with cheese. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 350 degrees. Place sandwiches in and bake until toasted and cheese has melted.

There is nothing better than using up leftovers the right way, you know the wrong way… as in throwing them in the garbage after 5 days of sitting in the fridge. These steak sandwiches are easy and delicious.
